Drivers Age

21 to 99 Years

Customers who fall outside the age limitations will not be able to rent a car unless there is a young or senior driver fee specified in this section. Please note that, if applicable, this fee will be included in the rental price and will be payable on arrival at the rental desk in the local currency.

Travel Restrictions

Cross Border Charges :

Vehicles must not be taken out of the country of rental. No one way cross border rentals are permitted, vehicle must return to Zimbabwe.

Vehicles may enter the following countries: South africa, Lesotho, Swaziland, Botswana, Namibia, Malawi and Mozambique.

Cross border entry into any other country is not permitted.

Only customers paying by credit card or an existing Budget account will be permitted to rent on cross border. Customers must provide a copy of their passport with photograph and identity particulars.

Maximum rental period the vehicle is allowed outside the country will be 30 days.

Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW) and Super Theft Loss Waiver (STLW) is not applicable on cross border rentals.

A minimum of 48 hours advance reservation required and the renter is required to obtain police clearance prior to leaving Zimbabwe with the vehicle. A Budget representative will assist with this, but the renter must be present. Police office hours for cross border are Monday – Friday 0800 – 1500, excluding public holidays.

The following additional charges will apply to cross border rentals:

Cross border fee – USD 50.00 per rental

Cross border insurance - USD 15.00 per day charged for the period the vehicle is outside Zimbabwe.

Customers need to produce proof of exit and re-entry dates (on the Passport) when returning the vehicle to the Budget offices. Failure to do so will result in charging cross border insurance for the entire rental period. Excess charges will increase on cross border rentals, please enquire at time of reservatoin.
